We are proud of our collaboration with Fairphone. This Dutch phone brand shows that the smartphone industry can do things differently. Fairphone makes phones that are fairer, repairable, and circular. Fairphone is committed to extending the life of products, promoting fair supply chains, and reducing e-waste. This mission fits seamlessly with our mission: to create awareness about the value of electronics, reduce the use of raw materials, and encourage reuse and recycling. Together, we show that every step - from design to collection - contributes to a circular future.

Thanks to our collaboration with Fairphone, we are able to organize no fewer than ten international E-waste Races this year, with a hundred participating schools across the Netherlands, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom. After students have attended an inspiring guest lecture on the impact of electronics on the environment and the value of raw materials, they get to work. They collect old electronics and ensure that they are given a second life or recycled responsibly. During the E-waste Race, they experience in a practical way how they can contribute to a circular future.

Fairphone takes responsibility for this by striving for e-waste neutrality: for every product sold, an equal weight of electronic waste is collected and responsibly recycled. We collect this waste for them with our E-waste Races. This keeps valuable electronics in the chain and protects the environment. Fairphone also uses recycled and fair materials.
